"Why I love bulbs!"

Amaryllis bulbs are native to the Andes mountains of South America, commonly grown in South Africa aaaannnd right here in river city, yep you guessed it, RAMONA. I grow mine outdoors in full sun to part shade, but they want sunshine. Relatively pest free, rabbits leave em alone and I’ve never lost one to a gopher. Did I mention, drought tolerant?

They are pricey, but as is the case with bulbs in general they are inexpensive when you think of the long term return they provide, as they multiply and return seasonally for years of enjoyment. Put em in the ground and they are one and done! I’m not gonna pretend that they are indestructible by they are more hardy than annuals, which last a single season and then you start all over again from scratch.

All of the above is exactly WHY I LOVE BULBS!!!
